Last Sunday, October 28th marked the official (almost) completion of Robert & Monica Fortunato’s Green Idea House in Hermosa Beach, CA.
On hand to celebrate were California assembly candidate Al Muratsuchi, humorist Paula Poundstone, congressman Henry Waxman, Hermosa Beach mayor Jeff Duclos and a houseful of pro-active citizens. Guests enjoyed a tour of the net-zero carbon-neutral home and were invited to share ideas and voice concerns with the office-holders. Personally speaking I would have liked to hear more specifics and commitment from the politicians; it seems that in our country at this time environmental and sustainability solutions will come from innovative businesses, individuals and organizations such as ANEW and Green Idea House.
