Education
ANEW is committed to keeping office surplus items in use and out of landfill. ANEW educates by raising awareness about the issues regarding landfill and construction & demolition waste, a primary component of the waste stream. ANEW defines WASTE differently. ANEW sees W.A.S.T.E. as an acronym that stands for We Are Stewards of The Earth. We believe we are all stewards, connected and responsible for incorporating best practice around waste.
ANEWmethod™ is a proven system that minimizes waste and delivers a positive and lasting impact for people, business, and the natural world. ANEWmethod includes:

ANEW ANNUAL EARTH WEEK SUMMIT
At our annual summits, ANEW presents project case studies to raise awareness about the ANEWmethod™ for professionals of the built-environment and brings together thought and practice leaders representing global corporate clients, manufacturing, architecture + design, engineering/transportation and higher education to brainstorm today's priorities to create solutions for the future.
The first three annual summits were in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and after a 4-year hiatus due to the pandemic, our 2024 Earth Week Summit took place in April in San Francisco and Los Angeles, CA. Read about our latest summit here >
CASE STUDIES
When working with ANEW, each client receives:
- a Certificate of Social and Environmental Sustainability which includes the landfill diversion rate and other metrics of Surplus Stewardship®
- a Tax Receipt that details the community organizations that received their surplus items
- an Independent Audit to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards
- a Case Study document that summarizes the project outcome through stewardship, waste minimization, and community impact. Data tracked, documented and independently audited.
These Case Studies are used as tools to convey the importance of keeping items in use and out of landfill; supporting local community donations and material circularity. Case Studies serve as motivational proof to incorporate a stewardship model and to act responsibly. The results clearly illustrate the benefits of partnering with ANEW and to remind us that We Are Stewards of the Earth!
