We’re excited to announce the launch of Feel Good Fridays — a new social media series celebrating the heart and soul of ANEW’s mission.
During our 20th Anniversary year (2025-2026), we’ll be shining a light on two key groups who make our work possible:
- Stewards — the individuals who have supported ANEW’s mission over the past 20 years with passion, consistency, and care.
- Recipients — the nonprofit organizations who receive corporate surplus through our Surplus Stewardship® program and put it to good use in powerful, purposeful ways.
On Fridays we’ll feature one of these incredible changemakers on our social media channels. It’s our way of honoring the people behind the progress — and sharing a little more good news with the world.
Below, you’ll find an ongoing list of the amazing folks we’ve featured so far. Check back often — we’ll be adding to it throughout the year!

ANEW Recipient: Mission Centers of Houston
ANEW is pleased to support Mission Centers of Houston (MCH) which provides resources and training to small local churches and organizations located in impoverished communities throughout Houston, Texas.
Through our Surplus Stewardship® program, MCH received commercial refrigerators and freezers which enabled them to accept and store food donations for their Compassion Center ministry which offers food pantries and emergency food assistance.
“Every piece of equipment we received was in working order and we now have freezer and cooler space. Shortly after we received these items, we were able to secure food donations, and before you knew it, we had them filled with a variety of fresh and frozen foods to share with our partners. It has helped us expand our ministry offerings in a new way, and we are deeply grateful for ANEW for providing them to us.”
MCH provides for the physical and spiritual needs of people living in Houston’s inner city. They empower children and adults through Christ-centered programs aimed at providing food security, homeless assistance, educational and recreational programs, spiritual development, coordination of long-term disaster recovery services, and community development initiatives.

ANEW Recipient: Cornerstone Housing for Women
ANEW is thrilled to have been able to support Cornerstone Housing for Women, the largest women-only shelter and housing provider for women experiencing homelessness in Ottawa, Canada.
Through our Surplus Stewardship® program, they received multiple commercial refrigerators and kitchen shelving which enabled them to allocate needed funds to their kitchen meal plans and ensure easier meal production and service.
Each day, Cornerstone Housing for Women prepares and serves 750 meals across their programs — including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Staff and volunteers on their dedicated Food Services Team work hard to ensure that individuals using their programs have access to nutritious and comforting meals.
Each year, more than 1,300 women experience homelessness in Ottowa. Through their four housing residences, emergency shelter, and outreach program, Cornerstone Housing for Women strives every day to fill the gap in their city by offering women-centered, women-only programs and services to all women and gender-diverse individuals, with dignity and without judgment. ANEW & GEM: Bridging social sustainability with disaster recovery
Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) and ANEW have teamed up to support California wildfire survivors and families in need.
Through ANEW’s corporate surplus stewardship program, 34 truckloads of gently used, high-end furniture from a decommissioned 4-star luxury hotel in Los Angeles have been diverted from landfills and delivered to GEM’s distribution center. Paired with GEM’s inventory of essentials like bedding, cookware, and towels, families will receive complete home packages that bring comfort and hope.
This collaboration is designed to restore dignity and provide essential home furnishings to individuals and families rebuilding their lives after crisis. Together we are doing what’s right with what’s left®.

ANEW Recipient: Grandma’s House of Hope
Since fall of last year, ANEW has proudly supported Grandma’s House of Hope, a nonprofit in Orange County providing housing and holistic care for adults experiencing homelessness, poverty, and abuse.
Through our Surplus Stewardship program, we donated electric sit-stand desks, ergonomic chairs, couches, and more—furnishing their new office in the City of Orange and helping outfit their 12 homes that together support over 150 residents.
When Grandma’s House of Hope relocated their offices earlier this year, they had no furniture for their growing team. Now, their space is fully equipped and beautifully functional—empowering their staff to keep doing the incredible work they’ve been doing since 2007.
We’re honored to help this wonderful organization!

Knowing our LA corporate client had surplus items ready for donation, we reached out to nonprofit A Sense of Home and coordinated the delivery of five truckloads of surplus items, prioritizing items that could fill residential needs. A Sense of Home/ Home Bank LA then distributed these items to individuals and families affected by the fires—providing essential support during their time of recovery.
Thanks to this collaboration, gently used furnishings and materials that would’ve gone to waste instead found new life—perfectly embodying our mission to doing what’s right with what’s left®.
