We were provided a great opportunity this year at Dwell on Design – a presentation with our community partners WIJABA and USGBC-LA.

Rose Tourje of ANEW; Professor James Owens, Founder of WIJABA; and Dr. Jorge Partida, Executive Director, USGBC-LA spoke to a standing-room only crowd at the Sustainable Design Stage about the collaborative WIJABA program of building 13 libraries in Chihuahua, Mexico. The collaboration empowers children by promoting literacy and education, developing libraries and programs that plant the seeds of leadership, environmental consciousness, and community connection. ANEW is a vital component of the partnership, providing carpet and furniture for the libraries.
