ANEW will be collaborating with sustaining sponsor Bentley Prince Street (Booth 2234S) & steward sponsor Teknion (Booth 4347N)
November 14, 2012
[San Francisco, CA] Asset Network for Education Worldwide, Inc. (ANEW) will be showcasing the social side of sustainability at Greenbuild Expo November 14-16, 2012 in San Francisco, CA.
ANEW matches surplus office furniture, architectural materials and building assets to charities, which benefits the environment and local communities. ANEW will be collaborating with sustaining sponsor Bentley Prince Street (Booth 2234S) and steward sponsor Teknion (Booth 4347N) throughout the show to educate attendees on the benefits of transforming corporate surplus into community service.
ANEW was founded by Rose Tourje, a veteran commercial interior designer who shifted her career focus to “doing what’s right with what’s left” after realizing that great improvements were needed in the field of surplus liquidation. Since its inception seven years ago, ANEW has worked with the industry’s top service providers to create comprehensive solutions nationwide. The organization coordinates the entire process from the furniture’s removal, to redirecting it to deserving organizations all the way through reporting project metrics. To date, ANEW has diverted over 9.2 million pounds of materials from landfill; instead using it to serve over 500 organizations in 13 countries.
“We’re thrilled to be participating with the A & D innovators at Greenbuild, especially in San Francisco, the country’s greenest city,” says Tourje.
ANEW works with the A&D industry to provide solutions for surplus that benefit underserved communities and organizations. As sponsors, Bentley Prince Street and Teknion support ANEW’s mission by providing much-needed funding and resources. ANEW recently announced a partnership with the United States Green Building Council Los Angeles Chapter (USGBC-LA). As a community partner, ANEW will team up with USGBC-LA on projects that will have a positive environmental and social impact on communities locally and beyond. ANEW also acts as USGBC-LA ambassador to other USGBC chapters and their executive directors to promote the tenets of sustainable wellness.
